About the role
The Senior Engineer for Cooling & Thermal Management specializes in thermal design and liquid cooling readiness for high-density AI data center environments. You will advise clients on air, direct-to-chip, and immersion cooling strategies for 30kW+ rack deployments.
What you will do
- Lead thermal design and cooling strategy advisory for AI data center projects
- Design and review air-side economization, CRAC/CRAH, and in-row cooling configurations
- Evaluate and recommend liquid cooling solutions: direct-to-chip CDUs, rear-door heat exchangers, and immersion cooling
- Develop cooling readiness assessments for existing data centers being retrofitted for GPU workloads
- Conduct thermal modeling and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) review
- Specify and evaluate cooling equipment from Schneider, Vertiv, Stulz, and specialty vendors
- Develop PUE improvement plans and energy efficiency benchmarking
What we need
- 8+ years in mechanical or thermal engineering for data center or critical infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with CRAC/CRAH, in-row cooling, and liquid cooling systems
- Familiarity with ASHRAE TC 9.9 thermal guidelines
- Experience with thermal modeling tools (CFD or equivalent)
- PE license (Mechanical) preferred
Nice to have
- Direct experience with direct-to-chip or immersion cooling deployment
- Experience with NVIDIA DGX thermal requirements or GPU cluster cooling design
