About the role
The MEP Design Coordinator supports data center design engagements — coordinating with A&E firms on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing designs and ensuring alignment with AI workload requirements, Uptime Institute standards, and client specifications.
What you will do
- Review and coordinate MEP design packages from A&E firms on behalf of the Owner
- Ensure electrical designs (HV/MV/LV, UPS, switchgear, PDUs, generators) meet project requirements
- Review mechanical designs for CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling, and high-density thermal management
- Identify design conflicts, RFIs, and coordination issues between trades
- Support long-lead equipment specifications and vendor evaluation
- Maintain design tracking logs and document management systems
- Participate in design reviews, commissioning planning sessions, and factory acceptance tests
What we need
- 5+ years in MEP engineering or design coordination for data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Strong working knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with ASHRAE TC 9.9 thermal standards and Uptime Institute Tier criteria
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with design coordination tools: AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks
Nice to have
- PE license (Electrical or Mechanical)
- Experience with liquid cooling design (direct-to-chip, rear-door heat exchangers, immersion)
